Set up this slide generation automation once and you’ll be cruising through your Pitch, QBR, or any other presentations with no preparation tasks and no spelling mistakes.

Here’s how to generate your own personalized slides:

  1. Add placeholders to your slide deck.

It should look like this slide below. Use the format, “{{Text}}” in your slides. Be sure not to have spaces in the placeholders.

  2. Label the information on your data source.

In this example, the CRM has the important personalization info labelled, but if you need other info to personalize your slides, click add more to select more info to move into your slides.

  3. On your slides, go to Extensions>Apps Script.

Apps Script will be automatically enabled for you. This will take you to a new page to insert your slide-personalization Template.

  4. Add the "personlization script" Template to your Magical workspace by clicking this link.

Then personalize the section below to match the placeholders in your slides. Use the symbol that looks like this {…} in the single quotes to select the label you’d like to use to fill the placeholder in your slides.

  5. Click the play (▶ Run) button to run the automation.

You may need to give permission to Google to create a new presentation for you.

  6. Open the presentation URL in a new tab.

At the bottom of the Apps Script page, you’ll see your newly created presentation's URL within 30 seconds. Copy it into a new tab. Et VOILA!
