Introduction to Dropdowns and Radio Buttons in Automations
Single-selection fields like dropdowns and radio buttons are a powerful new feature in your automation toolkit, designed to enhance the flexibility and accuracy of data entry processes. You can now populate dropdown fields and select a radio button in forms based on either one of the options in the selector or by matching it to site information.
How to automate dropdowns and radio buttons
Fill with a specific option from the selector
Navigate to the form where you want to automate the data entry.
In the automation builder, select the dropdown/radio button field you wish to fill.
Choose the option from the menu that will be used every time the automation runs.
This method is ideal when the dropdown value is always the same every time you run an automation.
Filling a field with matching site info
Select the dropdown field you wish to automate.
Choose the "Fill with site info" option.
Map the dropdown to a corresponding piece of site information. For instance, if the dropdown is for selecting a state, map it to the state information on your source site.
Ensure that the site info exactly matches the dropdown options to avoid errors.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What happens if the site info doesn't match the dropdown/radio options?
If your site info does not exactly match the dropdown options, the field will not be filled. For example, if the site info uses state abbreviations (e.g., "CA") but the dropdown requires the full state name ("California"), the automation will not populate the field.

Are there other reasons the single-selections won’t work in an automation?
Some sites may use custom implementations that look like dropdowns but are not recognized as such by the automation tool. In these cases, the automation may not detect or fill dropdowns. We are actively working on solutions to improve the detection of such custom dropdowns. If you encounter this issue, please comment below with the site so we can investigate further.
Can I use this feature on all websites?
Dropdown automation is currently most effective on sites that use standard web elements for dropdowns. We are expanding support to more sites.
Is there a way to test if dropdowns will work on my site before setting up full automation?
We recommend using our test sites or starting with a small automation to verify if the dropdowns are detected and filled correctly. You can also use the "Missing Fields" feedback feature in the visualizer to report any issues directly.
How can I provide feedback or request support for a specific site?
You can leave feedback directly below. Tell us below in the comments below.
