UPDATE (5th July 2024)

Last year, we introduced paid plans for users on personal domains and those with organization-associated email addresses in an effort to further invest in eliminating more soul-crushing work with advanced automations.

To ensure a consistent experience for all of our users, we will continue to roll out paid plans to all existing Magical users with personal (non-work) email domains over the course of the next month.

When will this impact you?

Starting July 8, 2024, existing Magical users with personal (non-work) email domains will continue to receive a one-week free trial of the Core plan, which includes unlimited usage of template actions.

During the trial or any time after, you can choose to upgrade to the Core plan.

What is considered as a personal (non-work) domain?

Personal (non-work) email domains are domains that are not associated with an organization. These domains are often associated with free email services provided by companies like Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, etc, ending with domains such as gmail.com, hotmail.com, yahoo.com, etc.

  2. How do I upgrade to the Core plan?

    You can upgrade your Magical account to the Core plan at any time by following these steps:

    1. From your Workspace, click on the profile icon in the bottom left corner.

    2. Select 'Billing' and then 'Upgrade'.

  3. I'd like to purchase Magical for my team, what control do I have over who is part of a paid plan or not?

    1. If you decide to purchase Magical for your team, you will be able to approve who from your team is on the plan and who is not, giving you control over your budget.

  4. What if I need SSO and more customization (i.e. an Enterprise Plan)?

    1. We have an enterprise plan for large teams with more advanced and custom needs. Please contact our team (sales@getmagical.com) to discuss your needs.

  5. What discounts and offers are available?

    1. Annual Discount - there will be a discounted price if you pay for the whole year at once.

  6. I am on a paid plan, how do I cancel my Magical account?

    We'd obviously love for you to stay, but if you need to cancel your account, you can do so by following these steps:

    1. From your Workspace, click on the profile icon in the bottom left corner.

    2. Select 'Personal Settings' and then 'Cancel'.

  7. I cancelled my account, will I get a pro-rated refund?

    1. Once you have canceled your paid Magical subscription, you will still have access to your plan’s features until the end of your current payment cycle.


(10th July 2023) Today, I want to personally share some updates to Magical’s pricing and packaging.

When Magical got started, we set out with a goal to eliminate soul-crushing tasks. Our investment in the future of eliminating tasks means creating packages and plans that suit all users, teams, and companies of different sizes and needs. These paid plans will begin to be offered and upheld starting on August 15, 2023, for users with a private email address that is not affiliated with an organization. You will be notified by email and in Magical when paid plans have been made available to you.

What is changing?

Starting on August 15, there will be new plans to choose from - Free, Core, Teams, and Enterprise.


NOTE: Template limits can be found in your workspace.

When will this impact you?

Starting on August 15, 2023, new plans will begin to be introduced for personal users of Magical. Personal users are accounts with emails that are not associated with an organization.

Not all users will start seeing the usage tracking and paid plans available at the same time. You will receive an in-product notification and email when your usage begins to be counted and the plans become available to you. You will also receive a notification as you approach the maximum number of actions available in your plan to give you a heads-up.

What discounts and offers are available?

  • Referral Credits/Offers - As you approach the free usage amount, you will be prompted to upgrade by paying or by referring new users to Magical. If you already have referral credits, you will receive an email with a discount code.

  • Early Bird Discount - You will be eligible for a 20% discount for the first 3 months if you sign up for paid plans early. Please check your email for the code.

Why are we creating paid plans?

Over the past three years, Magical has built the productivity app you've come to love. With Magical, you can now automate messaging and expand text with Templates, move info across the web with Transfers, and use ChatGPT in your workflow with AI Assist/AI Reply. Up until now, it has all been free.

We get it, spending money isn't fun. Neither are boring tasks. That's why we are going to use these plans to further invest in eliminating more soul-crushing work with advanced automations and new magic powers. Keep your eyes peeled for some really magical automations coming this quarter.

  1. Is Magical still free?

    • Yes - Magical has a free plan! The free plan has a lifetime allotment of basic and advanced actions. There is no time limit!

  2. What counts as 1 Text Expansion?

    • This is also known as a Template Action. Any time you use text expansion with a Magical Template on a site/app. To review your available Template Actions - please visit your workspace.

  3. What counts as 1 automation?

    1. Any of the following counts as 1 automation:

      • Transfer Actions - Any time you click “Transfer … ” to move information into spreadsheets, or website forms - that counts as 1 automation. The first time you fill and map the information does not count. When you transfer multiple pieces of information or from multiple open website tabs - that still counts as only 1 automation.

      • Personalization Actions - Automatically filling any number of placeholders in a Magical Template using info from a website counts as 1 automation.

      • Enrich Actions - Revealing extra/hidden info on a profile you are visiting on the web counts as 1 automation. Such as their email address.

      • AI Actions - Prompting Magical’s AI to generate text counts as 1 automation. Or clicking Yes / No / Write with AI buttons counts as 1 automation.

      You can use any combination of the above actions within your allotment of monthly automations.

  4. Are the usage amounts lifetime or monthly?

    • Template Action limits in the free plan will be documented in your workspace.

    • Advanced Automation limits reset monthly

  5. What can I do with my referral credits?

    • You will receive an email with a discount code that you can apply when you upgrade. If you miss the email and have credits, please contact us at billing@getmagical.com.

  6. Are there extensions for purchase decisions?

    • The free plan doesn’t have a time limit. So you can take as long as you need to decide.

  7. What plan am I on until the new plans are available?

    • You will not be on any plan. In other words, use Magical as much as you need and we won’t be counting your usage.

  8. What discounts and offers are there?

    • Annual Discount for Advanced and Enterprise - there will be a discounted price if you pay for the whole year at once.
