How shared info & labels (previously variables) work
How shared info & labels (previously variables) work
Updated over a month ago

As a quick reminder, information is any element of data on any site or app which you can label and use in your messages, sheets, or forms. For example, on LinkedIn, you can label First Name and Company Name on any profile you visit and use those as placeholders in your message.

Magical has information labelled out-of-the-box on popular sites like LinkedIn or Crunchbase but many users use Magical on their internal sites like Salesforce, HubSpot, Greenhouse or even homegrown tools where labels may not exist. This is where shared labels come in handy.

When you use Magical with a company email domain (e.g. claire@getmagical.com), your labels are shared across everyone on your domain. This means only one person needs to create labels and everyone on that domain can view those labels and start using them in their messages, sheets, and forms.

What happens to labels I've already created?

Not to worry. Magical will remember any labels you have personally created. You will only start to see new labels that were not previously labeled appear as your coworkers start to create them.

Can I control which labels I share?

No, today labels are shared automatically across a domain. In the future, we plan to add admin control for shared labels which would allow an admin to decide which labels get shared.
